ASP

ASP - Active Server Pages is a windows based online programming langauge utilized for websites and online applications. ASP and its counterpart .net are both native to windows but extensions can be installed to allow for the execution of code on linux based systems.

There is some functionality that is available in ASP and ASP.net that is not available in programming langauges that are native to linux based systems. There is also preference some programers prefer to code using asp as opposed to php. Although this is for the most part personal preference there are some programers who will point out the advantages of ASP and backup their argument by pointing out the disadvantages of other programming languages such as PHP.
